What we do
Social Action - What it is
Increased awareness leads individuals to have a more subtle expanded perception that gives them a more sensitive awareness of themselves, society and the environment surrounding them.
This awakens in each one the need to express their Responsibility to themselves, their family and society.
To meet this need Dr. Celso Charuri proposed, also in 1979, the creation of the Central Geral do Dízimo (General Center for the Tithe) - PRÓ-VIDA. A social welfare institution that works exclusively with volunteers and, with resources from anonymous voluntary bank deposits received, makes donations in the form of goods and equipment to charities that request its help.
This activity is not meant to definitely solve the problems of the benefitting charities, but rather to give an example that "better, more dignified people, create a better environment, a dignified environment".
The Central Geral do Dízimo - PRO-VIDA does not solicit donations or deposits from any of its participants, nor does it receive aid or public or private grants of any kind, nor has it any political, social or religious affiliations.
All funds raised are destined for donations since the CGD has no administrative expenses. Everything that is received is donated in full, as can be verified in its audited balance sheets.
The financial reports for the General Center for the Tithe – Pró-Vida are monthly updated and published at all Pró-Vida headquarters, on display, easily accessible to all collaborators.
